Aaww Poppy - what an extraordinary-but-nice thing to say. Thank you for cheering me! (Nothing serious, but I had a bad committee meeting last night; however I've just had a blissful hour's weeding in the garden in warm sunshine, and have been invited to a friend for tea and cake this afternoon: so now am all smiles.:)))

Btw, I have two of these lovelies in a front bed (full sun) in alkaline soil - so you might be OK.

Hi Sheila - you are my co wedding cake tree fan - so of course I applaud your taste in plants! Now youve made my day, I would love at least one of these in my garden so Ill give it a go. Now I just need to find one. Im glad I cheered you up. I wont join committees on principle - too many people not making enough decisions!! Id be hopeless!

Thanks Poppy. Luckily it was my last meeting: done my 3-year stint, so that's it, and I'm now jumping for joy! Good luck with finding a Sorbaria Sem . . . I got mine by mail order - if I can find the label I'll let you know which one. :)

I love to see the new foliage on this shrub. I took mine out after about five years, as it was a terrible suckler. I miss it now. Wish I'd kept it in a pot! :)
