Have you had that for a while Homebird? my mum has got one with a couple of flowers on and she is so excited as my daughter bought it for her birthday a couple of years ago, and it hasn't stopped flowering since. She doesn't feed it, just a drop of water now and again? Guests think it is artificial :o) Yours is beautiful with all those flowers.

These are beautiful, HB. I've never grown them, but looking at these and those of others here, I think I've been missing out.

It's strange how they seem to have different flowering times,Homebird,as my white one always has it's main flush from June to November..with a shorter period from then,on the next new stem..and the yellow one always flowers in January, but not in summer....

There are many different species of Phal - the ones that most of us buy are hybrids of the different species, and also there are many out there which are intergeneric crosses with Doritis (looks very similar to Phalaenopsis). This is why a few Phals are good - the different crosses availasble mean that it's possible to have at least one in bloom at any one time.
It also explains the differing amount of time that they can bloom for. I have one named hybrid, Phal. Yu Pin Pearl, that has been blooming since April!
