Loved this area when we visited this year....painted some reminders of it......Funnily enough Dulverton has a "switch off" today. The aim is to reveal the natural light from the sky and the stars and not from artificial light pollution.

We have quite a few old stone bridges in Derbyshire. Certainly lots of old stone walls and cottages. Bank voles and woodmice live in the old stone walls, and mosses, lichen and small ferns grow on the capstones.

If I lived near that type of countryside I think I would be out every day taking photos of those lovely stone walls and cottages!

This is lovely ML - wish I could paint... My Grandmother could and my Auntie was a commercial artist - sadly I didn't inherit those genes!

:0))))) Thank you PT,That's interesting that your Auntie was a commercial artist......My father grew up in cornwall where I lived for 20 years as a child. His passion was oil painting, especially coastal scenes.Had no interest in it then!! So I have no idea where it comes from!

Have you done any paintings of hills .. ?
6 Feb, 2012
What a coincidence,TT.I'm actually in the middle of doing a painting of hills beside a lake. You must be telepathic! My favourite subject is water.
