I've never seen one in flower. What a lovely surprise....I hope one day mine will flower. I have a Stransvaesia Davidiana...which is now renamed Photinia Davidiana..so it must be from the same family..and it flowers, but only sparsely. In fact, I think it has a berry on it too! :))

You're right Karen it does have a few small berries too..

I would say that ours is approx 4 years old including the time it took to grow a 5 litre size potted one...

Hi Kat, Hi Annella,

Since posting that pic in December Kat, we have one or two more branches of flowers appearing, right at the top of the Shrub/tree, it is over 6ft tall now...:)))
It's nice to have the Flowers now Annella I hope it doesn't spoil it for for the usual flowering time April/May.

Crissue, are you aware of anything like time-gap between planting and first blooming of Photinia? I planted my P. 4 years ago, it is almost 180 cm high, but havenĀ“had flowers yet. I even did not know that it has flowers!

Hi Kat, I'm sorry I only know that it is mature Shrubs that are supposed to flower, but that the flowers are sterile...I don't remember ours flowering the first year or so...I would think at about three or so years maybe....
