Looks so green and fresh. Oh to be in England!

Hi Chrispook, I think I took this one in May when everything looks green and fresh. I see you and I have similar sandy soil (you have a lovely garden). Do you add lots of organic matter to your soil to increase its water retentiveness? Before next summer I'll try to slow down surface evaporation by mulching with tree bark.

I do as much as possible but not enough, it needs more. I use bark on some flower beds and our own compost for veg beds and around some shrubs. Sadly this Autumn has been so busy I have not put any compost down. Off to Ukraine on Thursday, and not really home till mid Jan when I guess it will be too cold to do anything. Oh well lets hope it survives.
