Spathodea campanulata 'aurea' - Gold/Yellow African Tulip Tree (Spathodea campanulata 'aurea' - Gold/Yellow African Tulip Tree)

There's many African Tulip trees in this nice grassy area by the shopping area where I buy groceries. Photo taken Sept. 27, 2011 with my iPhone.

Looooovely. This tree will look so nice in my garden.

I planted one of my Clerodendron Ugandese shrubs in my garden yesterday. I want to see the difference in growth (or not) between the one in the ground and the one in the pot by spring.

Alexandramou:

This is a very tropical tree. They're really widely planted here in San Diego...as you've seen by the hundreds of pics I've posted of this tree in the past. lol! :>)

This tree is not hardy to freezing temps at all...it will die to the ground (very quickly). I've read in Florida large established trees which occasionally freeze to the ground will re-sprout in spring or during warm weather.

I'm sure your Clerodendrum ugandense will grow very quickly in the ground.

I do like these yellow ones. Much more attractive I think than the orange, or maybe I'm just so used to seeing the orange!

Bernieh:

I've been seeing a lot more of the golden-yellow ones lately. Although, the the red-orange ones will always be more widely planted because they're grown from seed and the golden-yellow ones have to be grafted or grown by cuttings.
