One of my favourite plants of all time D. Love it! I do have a baby one...it made it through last winter so there's hope for it. This plant has more value than most others I can name...Evergreen, flowering, lovely red fruits, shiny beautiful foliage and even stunning red stems....it's a perfect plant. In fact I think I've just talked myself in to buying one for Heuchera garden! lol :))

Well, I did DD, but I had forgotten...thanks for reminding me! I know just where I am going to be able to get one too!

Yes so do I ....have been looking at it for some time now, but it will take too long to grow as it is a small one.

Yes, they aren't the quickest are they. I need to try to get a taller one.....

Well done Dawn....never seen one for sale that size.

It was a fluke Dotty. Mail Order Trees have started selling on Ebay. Had trees fron the company before so know their quality. They put a few plants up for auction and I couldnt believe it when I won it for £8.13. The postage was £9.95 but I combined it with a Corylus kent cob nut tree.

Dottydaisy2:

It's looking really good! Just wait until it becomes a giant tree, you'll have thousands of these fruits everywhere...and smashed fruit everywhere. lol! :>)

This tree becomes a large here in San Diego...to 35ft/11m tall and almost as wide.

Dawn good for you...... Delonix it would take a long time to become that large, last winter knocked it back!! apparently you an use the fruit to make a liquor.

24 Oct, 2011

I would guess it could be used for a liquor...because the fruits, though it edible, don't taste good at all (to me, anyway).

25 Oct, 2011

Apparently it is a Greek liquor...we never get enough fruits on the tree at one time to do anything with.

25 Oct, 2011

Oh, eventually you will have enough fruit. lol! :>)
