This was taken just after we got Bonnie from the RSPCA. She had been neglected, and we had to build her up. She was only 9 months old when we got her. We were told she was a Whippet x, but she is much bigger than a Whippet, but not as big as a greyhound, we think there is some staffy in there as she is quite stocky on the chest and she is very strong. She is very vocal, and we have some interesting 'conversations', the sounds she makes sound like language, it is so funny.

would you believe she was quiet and placid when we chose her curled up in her basket, compared to the other dogs which were running up and down barking. Thats why we chose her. She pulled the wool over our eyes, now she barks at everyone who goes past especially if they have a dog! But we love her to bits and wouldn't change her for the world. She sure is devious though.

Yes, I do believe that Bonnie was quiet when you chose her...
Rescued dogs, when first placed in new homes, very often start off calm ... but then, once they realise they have acquired some lovely new owners, and a wonderful place to live, they assert their authority ...
... sort of making sure everyone knows that they like where they live now, and have no intention of leaving ! Bonnie sounds adorable ;o)

Oh she is, but quite naughty too sometimes. I had to laugh one day I had made my son some sandwiches and put them down on the dining table and then I called him for his tea. He was in the lounge playing on his games console. By the time he had finished the level he was on and gone to get his tea, there were only crumbs left. Mind you after being raised in a puppy farm, then half starved by someone else, is it any wonder she is opportunistic?

Hello V...what a lovely 'Bonnie'...don't they always look so sad these dogs, so glad she's found a good home with you..won't be long before it will seem like she's always lived there with you.....and all her unhappy days will be just a distant memory....:o)

Agree with Terra - great that you got a rescue dog. It's terrible how many there are needing homes and mostly tend to be x breeds of Staffies, German Shepherds, Lurchers- at least in this area. Glad 'Bonnie' has found happiness with your family.
