Duranta erecta 'Sapphire Showers'

Duranta erecta 'Sapphire Showers'

Bought this shrub last night. It is a gorgeous shrub....this picture doesn't do it justice. I need to take a better picture.

It does look lovely - the way the colours 'bleed' into each other, Alex. Show us another pic! :)

Alexandramou:

This one become a medium-sized tree in time. It can grow very quickly and is very drought tolerant. They're a dime a dozen here. lol! :>) There's a lot of varieties sold here. I like the ones with the variegated yellow or white leaves.

Wow, they are in no way a dime a dozen over here!!!
I am so glad I have found this shop....it's a GIY that has a flower section, the owner owns a flower shop in town as well...He love plants like us and tries to bring over plants out of OUR ordinary. He actually told his employees to show me the Erythirina tree when I visit the shop. I only shop there now because I want to make sure he has the business he deserves!!!! I would be devastated if he closed down....ahhhhh.

I pretty much meant you can get cuttings or seeds for free...as there's so many growing here.

It's always nice to find a good supplier of exotic plants. We're lucky here, because there's many specialty nurseries. However, with that being said: many have suffered in the Great Recession.

Free??? You can't get ANYTHING fro free over here!
On the radio you can hear things like..."soon we are going to be taxed on the air we breath, and us living in the country we will pay double for the clean air we breath" the Great Recession! :o{

Buuut on the bright side, I will have a garden full of gorgeous plants to take of. ;o))) (that's me, always the optimist)

I guess we're still very lucky here in San Diego, we still can get things for free here, such as: concerts, the museums in Balboa Park (on certain days). People are very generous here with plants, also. You can get large Plumeria cuttings, orchids and so many other plants. I give my plant to people, also.

I'm also an optimist.

I like giving away cutting and seedling myself...some people are generous here some you don't even want to ask. (worldwide I think)
We pay for museums except on Sunday's and the free concerts are really not to my taste.

My optimistic friend.

You'd love the concerts and free entertainment here...it's fun! It's nice to go to the resorts when they have entertainment for free.

Very Pretty Alex...wouldn't mind a few specialist shops myself here, I am building a bit of a rapor with an English Nursery owner and grower here, very much into the Environment and sustainable growing...

Thanks Crissue. This is not a specialist shop but the owner loves his plants and he brings over a nice selection.

Oh, sounds interesting.

That's a start...finding someone who is as interested as yourself...
