You are so lucky with the climate...I lost mine just as the first buds appeared to a very early frost...freakish...but the one that did bloom was wonderful. Looked very much like yours Crissue! Have dug up the roots and will store them in the basement over winter...next spring I will have an early start.

Thanks all...:))

What a shame Lori...Dahlias are such a lovely flower, and there are so many varieties too...At least you've got your corms safe for next year....

Will have them in the ground at a more suitable time next spring. They are forecasting flurries later in the week! everything is underwraps or is waiting for the snow. Hope we get lots of snow before it gets seriously cold. (in case you think I've lost it, wishing for lots of snow, it's purely for protection of my perennials!) When will your winter arrive, Crissue?

23 Oct, 2011

I lost mine from last year..kept in in the shed ..did all the things I was meant to..oh well ;)

Hi Lori....sad to say mine have gone now, the last frost we had was a bit too much for them...all cut back and covered now...Hard to say when our Winter will kick in here November can be wet and warm, or dry...then around December if the temperatures drop a lot, it can get bitterly cold, and snow too...Our Winters are fairly short though...by the end of feb things are beginning to brighten up tho possibly still cold...

Hi Pix...As you know I don't take mine out anyway, just cover them with their own old stems then straw over, that's usually enough...

Had a real tiring day today...will be glad when the AB's finish, they make me feel so listless...so have slept a lot..
and there's lots of rain today too....

SLeep heals! :))))))))))

Hi Pix....:))) feel so guilty tho...want to be doing stuff even inside, it's too wet for outs...The good news is our new digi box arrived this morning, very supprised it arrived so quick...so all back to normal....Watched Downton on line, it was good...Did you think that James Gordon, was an imposter, funny how he disappeared all of a sudden....

24 Oct, 2011

Patrick/Peter yes I think he is! I love this prog!

24 Oct, 2011

Sorry did I get his Christian name wrong...I suppose it's the changing of his names that threw me...Poor Bates, who is gonna get the blame for his ex wifes death I wonder...

Been raining here all night, but has stopped now, and supprisingly mild....
Everything looks fresh though...can't beat a drop of the real stuff, as long as it's not too much...

25 Oct, 2011

I thought it was Bates who killed her..he had been pushed to the limits by that awful woman!
heh yeah jsut like wine eh?

25 Oct, 2011

;))))

He told his girlfriend he had bought the stuff for her...maybe she committed suicide and blamed bates...won't know yet...

25 Oct, 2011

Exciting stuff! :)))))

25 Oct, 2011

Sure is...:)))
