Spathodea campanulata - African Tulip Tree

Spathodea campanulata - African Tulip Tree (Spathodea campanulata african Tulip tree)

This is the other side of the previous photo. It still has a lot of die-back from the 7 year drought. Although, it's not as noticeable on this side of the tree. Photo taken at Presidio Park, San Diego, CA. on Aug, 29, 2011.

Meanie:

Yes, it has lot of flowers. It look terrible with all the die-back. Hopefully, the park district will cut out all the dead growth!

It would be nice, although your city fathers (and ours) may have other forms of cut backs on their minds soon..........

Thanks! Yes, they are incredible in person. It's difficult to capture the true vividness of the flowers. I want to get a cutting of the golden/yellow variety one day.
