Boat bed starter

What a lovely idea!

I've seen pictures of boats in full bloom, and they look amazing, but this is the first "starting" one I've ever seen, so I had to take a pic.

I've also seen photos of fully grown boat beds but, like you. Fran, I've never seen one at so early a stage!

I wish there'd been someone around so that I could ask how long since it had been planted, but even if there had been, I doubt that I'd have thought of it in time

I just tried Goggling "Brighton Beach boat with flowers" on the wildest off-chance; it got me some more pictures of blooming boats, but not this one

I repeated your search & found 2 that look like your picture. This first one is the nearest:

Looking at your picture again I think the first link above is the same boat you photographed as the background looks similar! Have a look at the links & see what you think!

The tags confirm that this is Brighton Beach - the winching gear in the backgound is the same, but the post just behind the bow in my pic isn't in the other one - either that's a very new addition or the boat's been moved

They both might be of a previous year's planting scheme, but I could'nt find any dates on either photo or tag to say when they were taken.

still, well done Brighton - or some Brightonese [?] - for keeping it up
