little things

This little foxglove is about 7" tall. A perfect miniature growing on the wall in the duck house.

I love it.It looks good enough to eat. You can just taste the strawberry ice cream flavour.

I dont mind them as long as they behave. But another section of wall was covered in willow herb, that got the heave ho rather rapidly.

They can be very destructive in the wrong place. If frost gets in to the wall through that root then you are in to a repair job which is not worth the fleeting pleasure of seeing the little beauty. You can easily transplant it to elsewhere. I'm sure you know that but just in case new gardeners think it is cool to grow plants in walls I thought an early warning might not go amiss.

That's true, but it's in the duck house run and I will remove it when I remeber before it sets seeds. I spent a while a few weeks ago, pulling out the wild ones from the garden, so they didn't get mixed up with the i scattered seed for last year, thankfully they flowered a little earlier than the others.
