We spend a lot of time out there, Crissue. It's a most relaxing peaceful spot.

Bernie...To the right and front of the Fern...Is that a 'Nandina'....I have one in my garden and its a new one from last year, and I love the changes in leaf colour...I caught a brilliant shot of the flower heads just opening, which is a first for me....The common name for it is Heavenly Bamboo, tho it's not, if see what I mean lol

Crissue, I do know the Nandina but it won't grow here. That shrub in the courtyard in front of the Giant Sword Fern is a variety of Aralia and that's the colour of its' foliage all year round.

I'll have to look our for your photo to see those flowerheads.

Did you notice the weeds in between all the pavers? The weeds that were blown in during the cyclone and have taken hold in various parts of our place are really giving me headaches right now. I've never really had this much trouble with weeds before. Of course, they sprung up in all the bare spots left from the clean-up, especially under all the trees and shrubs which were cut back to stumps.

Yes, I did notice some weeds between the pavers. Weeds in between pavers is a real pain to remove...although, it doesn't look too bad.

I have tons of weeds under my shade structure in the front yard. I have remove all the plants and weed and spray with Roundup (herbicide).

Think I might have to resort to herbicide too. The weeds that have sprung up down the driveway and in the front garden beds are proving to be beyond a pain ... I found myself out there the other day whispering 'Die! Die!' under my breath whilst riping them out, lol! All the trees and shrubs that were growing so well in these spots before the cyclone obviously kept these spots shaded. Now, with the sun shining, the weeds are moving into these spots and they want to stay.

That's funny! I feel the same way, at times. I hate weeds! And I hate weeding even more! lol! :>)

Sorry long time catching up...The Aralia is smashing, I love those colour leaves...and there were some gorgeous little white flowers on the Nadina...I'm so glad I took a shot of it...Now it's produced lovely fresh reddish foliage...an amazing shrub...
