That is just the same as the one you saw on my page last year, so pleased you got one, it is a special one, love it, mine doesn't look too well after the very cold winter, it has a flower head on it but it looks to be struggling. Hope it manages to survive, but at least we now know what it is called if I need to replace it.

Yes Oliveoil.....I fell in love with yours last year as you remember. I was determined to have one. I hope yours survive! Mine has one more flower bud at the moment.

Love Peonies! Unfortunately, they can't grow here...it's much too warm in winter.

I love Peonies too....I'm so glad they do grow here. This is the first time I'm growing them so I was kind of worried.

Alexandarmou:

I would be especially concerned! The herbaceous types need the most chilling hours. If they don't consistently get enough chilling hours over a couple winters the plant will usually die.

The previous chilling hours are counteracted by temps above 70F/21C, 80F/27C and 90F/32C...we get these high temps here in San Diego every winter (especially inland where I live).

Delonix,
We now know that they grow and bloom well on Corfu.
I have three herbaceous and four tree peonies.

Alexandramou:

From what I know the tree peonies need a lot less chilling.
