Sixpence it was bought as a standard already grafted onto a a rootstock. I suspose you could try by remving all growth except top layer, good luck!

Thanks PP I asked because I had one bought for Xmas and wondered how it would fare in the winter.

Im not sure Val but I intend covering it with a double fleece bag and fingers crossed if its really severe I wil try to bring it inside into our utility room which would be above freezing, heres hoping for a mild winter.;0)
