Shirley, actually they're not really a nuisance in my garden at all. They mostly eat the grass ... I've learned not to plant Portulacas or Torenias in the outdoor garden beds because they will nibble those down to the roots, but they don't eat anything else that's in the outdoor beds.

We've got enough room in the yard downstairs for them to spend their day munching on the grass and not really disturb us at all.

Sixpence ... I have to agree. This was a little one and it was almost like it was playing hide and seek. They do that ... they often don't hop away straight away when you come upon them, but will stay still hoping you don't see them.

Awe how wonderful that is lovely is nt it, bit like the saying about an ostrich . I never see animals the trouble or to be careful of its humans I find are the most distructive.
I have just had to have my front log fence put back snaped and broken, son had to put it back, it was broken by the dustbin man not no animal, when I had him about it he denied it, when I seen him do it the 2nd time ,after his boss comming out to re put it back in place prior as I complained. The 2nd time he made sure he snapped it by dragging the bin over it, instead of taking down the path.

Ooohh horrible man! Sounds like he was having a very bad week! No need to take it out on your fence though!
