Oh wow, that is fantastic....I'm sure the sitka spruce grew where I lived in B.C. What lovely cones :)

You are so right, Whistonlass! This one is native to the Pacific Coast of northern North America, up to Alaska I always associate this with the planthunters of days gone by.
