The Macadamia Nut tree started blooming about 3 weeks ago. Large trees have thousands of hanging, clustering flower spikes. Macadamia Nuts are commercially grown in San Diego County. Photo taken in Balboa Park, San Diego on Mar. 3, 2011.

Thanks for the info. I did know most of the information on the website. I used to grow Macadamia nuts. The Big Island of Hawaii is the biggest producer of Macadamia nuts in the U.S. Chocolate covered macadamia nuts are one of the biggest selling tourist items in Hawai'i.
