They promised us sunshine but the clouds not shifting..chilly wind..did a bit this morning. Dug up my schizostylis and the beggar fell apart, all mucky clay soil cos it rained all night, freezing to the touch, gave up about half way!

19 Feb, 2011

22 Feb, 2011

thats not on Lulu, have a word with the florist.

22 Feb, 2011

I will tomorrow!! Will take whats left of them back!!
Am planning to go into town to buy a mat for dirty dog paws!!! Have spent hours steam cleaning everything!! It's my new toy! And now, want to keep at least part of the floor clean!!
I steamed.....
the cupboards, the fridge. the skirting, the doors and the shower and the oven and the draining board.
I plan to steam my chopping boards and anything else that can be STEAMED! Sluggy tried to help and had to be sent off to bed in case I steamed her.
Am now knackered and slightly peeved because I bout 1/2 a case of wine that I don't really like and my fishtank filter is making a funny noise!
Phew!
X

22 Feb, 2011

Oh dear what a busy day tou have had, sling some lemonade or tonic in the wine, won't seem to bad then, you have to have your drink, make sure you take those flowers back and see what they say, let me know, we have had a busy day also cleaning toay, OH went to the village to buy a btle wine for later tonight, hope that fish tank will be o.k. you don't want to lose those fish,

22 Feb, 2011

Oh what a day you've had Lou, you really deserve a better wine...sneak out and buy a good bottle and keep it all to yourself..after more steaming of course!

23 Feb, 2011

Lol, about to steam the boot room!
Took the Orchids back and claimed £40 worth of plants. I bought x 2 large bowls of daffs, x2 big white scented cyclamen, x 1 pot of grape hyacinths, x 3 hyacinths bulbs, a bunch of narcissi and a bunch of freesias, yippee, at least some will grow again next year!

23 Feb, 2011

Well done I amvery proud of you.

23 Feb, 2011

Up at at 'em gal! Im just going to complain to a reputable nursery about 4 geraniums I just bought from them..cos over £20 and came in a beautiful box in 2 litre pots...I could fit 2 plants easily into 1 litre pots..and the other two were no bigger than plug plants..in fact one was buried so deep that for a while I didnt think there was anything in the pot! The most expensive box of soil and pots I've ever purchased!!!

23 Feb, 2011

sounds like you have been ripped off big style there Tet,
why not put a photo on and let us see what you got for your money,

23 Feb, 2011

They are naughty when they sell what should be fairly established and in facts it's no bigger than a plug. Go pull the plug on them Tet!
Yes Yorks, I was quite pleased with myself too, as I had no receipt.......

23 Feb, 2011

Happy Anniversary to you both.....Lovely flowers. Are you cooking or going out for a meal? ANyway enjoy your day. Linda x.

25 Feb, 2011

Lindak. thank you, actually it was last friday and we stayed home and cooked sirlion steaks and a btle of champagne,

25 Feb, 2011

Cor...you dont half live it up Yorkie lol!.

Hey Lulu, got £20 of my £30 back..and a patronising email on how not to compare perlagoniums with hardy geraniums..when I only put the photo on to compare the size of the root (plug size) that they put into a 2litre pot!
I also had a lesson on "vegetitive division" which Ive been doing for about 30 years!!

25 Feb, 2011

They shud have given you a full refund Tet, knowing the bad press they will get on here now..

25 Feb, 2011

yes I agree with Annella, a full refund,

26 Feb, 2011

Whoa! thought I posted a response to you Annella in the wee early hours of this morning..and unless it was on a different page, its disappeared! Anyway I never mentioned the name of the company except to Sticki but I did ram it down their throat somewhat, told em I was qualified in horticulture (true! I do have an old 30y old certificate somewhere) but my excuse was I was really p'd off with their attitude. They didnt reply to that one lol!

26 Feb, 2011

good for you Tet, you tell em,

26 Feb, 2011

If it wasnt that it was in hilly Wales I wouldve saddled up Silver and galloped over the bridge to confront them! What I found laughable is that on their site they show a typical plant from 1.5 litre pot the root measuring 6". One 3 out of 4 mine didnt measure 3" and the other only barely 4"!!!!

26 Feb, 2011

they don't know how lucky they are that you never saddled silver up, could have been gunfight at the o.k. coral, seems to me Tet me Duck they are ripping people off nicely,

26 Feb, 2011

Once bitten twice shy Yorkie! Will I buy from there again? Neighhhhhh!!

26 Feb, 2011

I should think not Dear, you really should name and shame them

26 Feb, 2011

Its tempting but they did refund cost of plants if not postage (mind you if they had put them in smaller pots with less compost twouldve been cheaper!) and one plant is sort of reasonable so you could say with the smaller ones Ive had a tenner's value. I might have been unlucky with a lousy new employee..and the boss probly thought he had given me a tenner's lesson in plant raising lol!
