Indeed, I grow vegetables. (tomatoes,porei,peppers,salad,courgettes,melons and potatoes etc.)
But currently, I have problems with mice and rats eating away the porei and potatoes.
And lately, more and more the roots of my alstroemerias.
It's a war now!

You want to get rid of those ASAP. If they are becoming so bold you may have more of them than is healthy. It is said you are never more than 6' away from the nearest rat but you rarely come in contact with them. DIY stores here are selling boxes and poison which prevents the poison being got at by domestic animals. They are not very expensive. Long ago the local government councils in Scotland all had rat catchers or rodent exterminators to give them their correct title. They gave a free service. Now they tell you to use a commercial company.
