2 New Agave

2 New Agave

So these tiny babies came into the nursery and I couldn't stop myself. They are going to outgrow the house one day, but for now they are managable. I'm excited to watch them grow however dangerous they are.

I had one once. They are vicious, but wonderful :o)

I've never had an agave, but an Aloe is bad enough!

I have grown to love them, but they are vicious. Up on the shelf they can get pretty big before have to handle them.

GT:

It'll outgrow your house sooner than you think. :>)

You've seen my pics of how large Agave species grow here in San Diego.

Thanks. I know what they can do given time, but I'm not too worried. hey haven't proven to be terribly fast to grow in this environment. This is about four times the starting size 9 months ago and still smaller than saucers. All the aloes have grown far faster and large.

GT:

I would think you can force them to stay small by keeping them in a small pot.

No worries Sandra. :-) I've kept them in these and they seem plenty happy. Thanks.
