Phallus indusiatus (Phallus indusiatus)

A fungi in the rain forest common name" bridal veil" It is fertilised by blowflies , the veil collapses after some 6-8 hours , nest day it falls over and becomes a sludge.Is does not smell very nice.

Looks like an old gas mantle. Hope you are safe and away from those terrible floods.

Thank you all .Yes it reminds me of the old gas mantle too .
It has not a very nice smell .

Weather wize wehave a couple of Cyclones off our area but luckily they are heading in the opposite direction away from the coast,
No floods this far north like further down where the floods are horrific.We are having our normal monsoon season , just had a downpour an hour ago 1 inch of rain in 20 m
minutes.

We are getting these rains here too Pitta not as bad as yours over there too. I am laughing now I have just realised the gas mantle, I recall them in the lighting of my uncles caravan when I was a child.
