Pandanus ultilis - Screw Pine, Madagascan Screw Pine  (Pandanus ultilis - Screw Pine, Madagascan Screw Pine)

Screw Pine is generally grown very close to the coast. Quail Botanical Gardens is located only a mile from the beach. It's a very drought tolerant plant which is very picturesque...however, it's not too widely grown in the common landscape here because of the horrible spines on the leaves (they're like razor blades).
