good candidate for the terrarium.

I had it beside the pond, the taller plants shaded it most of the summer. in August I repotted it and that's when the really nice colour started to appear.

It's pretty tricky on how much sun it will tolerate. Mine gets a little morning sun...but I'm sure if it had too much sun the leaves would burn very quickly!

I'm sure I've seen pics of this plant growing in a pond (a wildlife pond..not a backyard one) I've had the green and cream coloured syngonium..it was a real traveller.

How interesting. I've never seen one growing in a pond before. :>)

I will have to do some looking but I think they qualify as a water plant. I could be wrong..it's happened before!

I found this site really informative and the photos are great...
It doesn't mention specifically that it will thrive in a boggy situation but it is a jungle plant and it will roam and climb...but the more I think about it, the more certain I am that I have seen them potted up and sitting in shallow pond!

I do know they grow in rain forest. I've seen them growing like this here (not rain forest but with water) and in Hawaii under trees (in rain forest). This plant loves a lot of water, however, I would think its roots would rot if sitting in water for a prolonged period of time. The only way it would grow in water if the water is highly oxygenated. I do know cuttings are start in water but it tends to decline if left in the water too long.

I think you're exactly right, D1. I may have dreamt it! lol... just kidding. I know that they like lots of water and would have tried to put it in the pond this past summer but it was in a small pot and the shelf in the pond was too deep for it. good thing, aye? I might have killed my little syngonium.

Sorry for the horrible grammar! I usually write these comments very late at night.
I think it might survive if you have lots of fish in the pond...this will usually create more nutrients and oxygen.

Your Syngonium 'neon pink' is looking very well. I can see where the color is turning lighter pink with the indoor conditions.
