Weird and wonderful

Yes ... the flowers on Palms are often overlooked ... but they can be quite lovely when you stop and take notice.

Bernieh:

Wonderful close up of the Dypsis decaryi inflorescence! I've always taken pics of the seeds on the spike but not inflorescence flowering.

They often go unnoticed but I find them rather pretty close-up.

Bernieh:

Many palms palms have beautiful, and sometimes very fragrant flowers. I went to Balboa Park late this afternoon...and I noticed the tall Dypsis decaryi were starting to bloom here also.

It's surprising how easy it is to miss the flowers, Marguerite. I think since I joined sites like GOY I've started to notice these things a whole lot more.
