Lady Banks

Lady Banks (R. banksiae lutea)

This small rose was one of my mothers favorites.

It is lovely..! It's a popular rose, they are easy to grow and can cover an arbor in no time. I'd read a little factoid about a Lady Banks rose not long ago, it said the largest rose tree in the world was a Lady Banks, it can be found not far from Tucson, in Tombstone, Arizona. It has a trunk circumference of over 13 feet (4 m), is 9 feet (2.7 m) tall, and covers an area of 8000 square feet (740 square meters). Now that's some sweet smelling roses...... lol.!

Wow. I did not know that. Had no idea they got that big or grew that fast. Mine must not like the soil it's in because this one is 6 or 7 years old and is only about 4 feet tall.
