Back at the dawn of time...I recall Buddy Holly. and in another genre, Patsy Cline. But it's only us old dinosaurs who remember them! Just about forgot to comment on the photo... Really, really good! are you using a Digital SLR?

Well Buddy still lives on now, I have the occassional 50s blast and always have a Holly track ot 2.

No not a D SLR, would be alot sharper if it were. Its a chuky compact zoom. Canon G7 (now its a G11)
At the time it was onw of the best, has a cracking interface and the interface is for a photgrapher if you know what i mean.

However of course digi is always about the processor and whilst its good it has its limitations. also there is no raw data file so you do your stuff then get a jpeg and thats it so if you havent got what you want then tuff (or bracket).
It can be sharp but depends on what you are taking as the focus is sometimes off and there is no manual focus thats any good. so If i want better its an SLR. But if I am mindful i can get the odd decent shot out of it

anyway I would recommend it but the latest one is too expensive and there is better spec out there now. If you want a compact zoom its all about the lens and what the processor can do I feel but you cant beat an SLR for seeing what you are taking/getting but extra money for something decent

Thanks Stevie... will have to reread this to take it all in....I need a new camera and at present I use a little digital Canon... I'm hoping that "Santa Claus" will find me a nice DSLR at Christmas time!! Rock on!
