Penstemon "Huskers Red"

By Meanie

Penstemon "Huskers Red" (Penstemon digitalis (Foxglove Beardtongue))

My favourite Penstemon.
It has a messy basal growth habit, but these near white flowers on the dark maroon stems really make it stand out.
The flowering stems grow to about 80cm in height.

Homebird - you were typing as I was! It's a really hardy plant, and pretty readily available in all the nurseries around here. I grew this one from seed 6 or 7 years ago.

Sow them next spring. I can't recommend this one enough.
