Yes, we have had to get rid of several trees, I started with some overgrown conifers and got rid of an ash tree and rhododendrons.
We have a multifuel burner, but also now a huge pile of wood. We even unearthed 2 coal sheds which we didn't know where hidden behind the garage. The old timbers from the house renovations have also joined the wood pile.
