Lovely Spritz is it a shrub all the info I could find was 'subshrub' !

I know, Denise - isn't that a strange description! They do have slightly woody stems, but shrubs they just ain't! They look like a small plant about 1' tall, but the stems do tend to 'flop'.

Thanks both - I love them! :-))

Thanks Spritz I will put it under HP then

Hmmmm...it's not a HP, so I suppose someone invented that description!!! It's evergreen, too...

18 Jun, 2010

I will change it to evergreen Spritz.

Isn't it difficult...is there a page for 'sub-shrubs'?

18 Jun, 2010

Dont think so as yours might be the only one?

18 Jun, 2010

LOL....I'm sure there must be more sub-shrubs around than Parahebes! Surely!! I'll have to read up on them, Denise. Otherwise I could have a page all to myself with two Parahebes on it! ;-)

Never heard or seen this "sub-shrub" before, nevertheless it looks lovely! :-)

I have two - a pale lilac one and this white one. Both very pretty with a long flowering season.

By the way, I think we do need a page for 'sub-shrubs' as I've discovered that all the shrubby Salvias are in that category - like 'Hot Lips' for example - maybe the most well-known. I grow a number of these Salvias, and I know other members do too.

Are you there, Denise??

25 Jun, 2010

Yes just come in from the hedgehog/frog watch Spritz. Dont you think it would be very hard to decide which is which?

25 Jun, 2010

No - it's in the way they grow - if the Salvias are not herbaceous, then they're classed as 'sub-shrubs'! There are a lot of them around. At the moment, all the GCs have them, as they're in flower from now onwards.
