not a skater but cant for the life of me remember what it is called.

its a water measurer or Hydrometra species. It is a blood sucking bug. It stabs its prey through the water surface and sucks the blood, mossie larvae are favourites.
I have spent 2 days going through a lot of books to finally find it. I ended up looking at my degree stuff. I knew I knew it but it is so long ago 30+ years. :o)
