Berberis and Bramble

These grow beyond the end of the garden. The birds love them. We planted the berberis but the bramble is wild. The rose is in my garden.

Bought the Berberis for the garden cos I liked the colour. Had it in the garden for a couple of years but you have to be careful with the thorns, especially when the children played near it, Anton decided to get rid of it, but because I liked it, he planted it in the field, but the brambles are slowly taking over. Want to try and get rid of brambles, but birds like both bushes. Can't win really. :o)

best to keep snipping bits off every couple of weeks if you want to keep them and at least will keep them under control,
