Fall Blanket: Alaska Southcentral

Fall Blanket: Alaska Southcentral

On a glacier lake where the mineral change the water color. The south central region has more deciduous variety than I do in the interior, more colors. And a longer season for fall to really get rich colors.

The colors there will last into October as well. Here, further north, we are white by then.

Thanks. If you notice on he mountains, the peaks often have this dark color, a bit purple. Now and then one is gold with oxidation, but mostly this deep color.

Yes, I wouldn't welcome the sight of autumn at all. But I do love all the different species down on the coast, gentler. Really, I guess its a downer, autumn color is just 5 months away here. Not there.....here.....lol. :-)

Isn't it lovely San? I'm hoping to get down to southcentral alaska on the coast this year and get some photos of my own. The still glacier lakes and river there are something else.

Used to be just an hour drive when I lived down there. Now its a day.....lol. Fall is always my recommendation, you may miss some flowering natives, but the mosqiuto's have died down and the fall colors and berries are so rich

Thank you. It is such a large state, probably half or more of Europe, so there is a lot of diversity. I'm preparing some shot from a trip I just took, spring happening all over the place.
