Mahonia japonica

Mahonia japonica (Mahonia japonica)

It waited a while until the temperature rose above freezing before flowering.

Is this pale, rather than deep, yellow, Sprtiz? I look forward to the blooms of Mahonia just as much as snowdrops. :-))

Yes, David - it is. I'm also a bit annoyed about the other one, as it looks too similar to this - I don't think it IS 'Charity' at all! I really wanted that one - it holds its flowers upwards, doesn't it.

Homebird - I get tired and have to have a lie-down. LOL.

"Charity" always reminds me of candelabras, with, as you say, the curving, upward, flower "spikes" in yellow. This one is beautiful, however. :-))

I've been done! I haven't got 'Charity' at all! Not fair. I really wanted her. :-(((

Thats lovely is it easy to grow? I have Charity but would like something a little smaller!

Yes - it's at the back of the border facing east, so it doesn't get much sun at this time of year. It seems fine, though.

A lovely bloom Spritz.
Homebird, I'm not surprised that my "Queen of the Gardens" gets tired with the size of her beautiful garden that she tends.
