By the look on Honey's face I suspect she was muttering something like...there wasn't a lot in there, Mother!!!! These Kongs are great...and indestructible - very important where Honey is concerned....she can destroy most toys in the blink of an eye!!

Happy New Year!!!

Happy New Year Uma and Milky ! I trust you are all surviving the Big Freeze?
I rather gather that the weather where we are is what you get at this time of every year Uma? We are always caught out and unprepared somehow...you would think that we would lean...LOL
No doubt you too are suffering Milky? We have been luckier than most - more ice than depth of snow down on the coast here....lots of "frost-proof" terra-cotta pots shattered and plants lost etc......great excuse to re-stock in the Spring...;>>>)))

We are trying to survive, Alzheimer...:) Yes, you are right, but this Winter is rather strange. I have never seen raining when minus temperatures! Today it has been raining and it was -5 C. We are always prepared - no tender plants are outdoors and some of half hardy ones are sheltered...Hope it will be warmer where you live and all your plants will be OK when the Spring comes...Keep warm and take care of yourself and your garden...

Hi there Uma.....One of my sons lives in Calgary - so I keep hearing muttered laughter when I complain on the phone about -10c etc......!!! He had -33 the other morning!
It seems to be our roads depts. that aren't properly prepared....we are running out of grit and salt believe it or not.
As for the gardens - well - as I say - it is a good excuse to start afresh when things don't survive. Normally our cold snaps are just that - a snap - but this time round it is a bit different I must say!!

Happy 2010 to you, Honey and Di. :o)

Thanks TT...and to your good selves as well. How are Conker and Co?
I haven't been around on here so much to keep up with the news recently....
I hope all is well?

9 Jan, 2010

Yes, thanks we are coping in this cold weather.
Conker's hair is still very thin following the chemo, so he wears one knitted coat during the day, and TWO knitted coats at night. Lol.
Have you been able to get out and about ?

Pleased to hear things are stable at the moment....he will need all the extra layers right now - it really is grim weather isn't it. I have been OK but the roads are evil around here - apart form our main road which is fine. I try to get the dogs out each day - but they are not bothered if we miss one. I managed it today - between blizzards! Luckily the Discovery copes well up country...and it is at times like this that I am glad I have it....often think I should get something less gutsy - but I do need a "Chelsea Tractor" up all these back roads etc!!
Keep cosy all of you!
