Haven't heard of this Louis....does it have a common name? Will it have a flower or grass?

I do not know if it has a common name Janey, but if you ask for Dasylirion grass, you might be ok. The blades of grass are slightly spikey, but it beautiful, one of my favourites. I have two, and I leave them in the ground all year round without wrapping them up. The protection it gets is, that they are planted around the cordylines, so it has some protection. I do get loads of nice comment on open days....

I bet you do....and to plant them in the shelter of the Cordyline and mirroring in miniature the shape.......stunning!

That's right Janey, they all go well together ..... :-)

Louis:

Very healthy looking plant! We have Dasylirion wheeleri - Desert spoon which grows wild here...it's native to the Southwest U.S. It has a tall flower spike which resemble a smaller, thinner Agave flower spike.

Has your plant bloomed yet?

No, still waiting to flower. It will take a long time to flower, due to our weather.
