How cool... ! Amazing how much it looks like the red salamander I found in the yard this summer. They must be a part of the same species. I'll have to google this little fella and see if they live around here too.

Maybe they are cousins or something Fl. LOL Louise, his tail does look cut off at the end (didn't even notice that!), but I checked another photo and it came to a point, so his tail is ok. Whew! When I come across these guys, it's always digging in my veggie beds. Luckily I didn't cut him with my spade!
