Pond before - March '08

Before: This is how the pond used to look back in March '08. I've also included a pic of how it looks at the moment. I'm using grass (Hakonechloa) primarily, mixed with a few hostas at the back and then amidst the grasses I'm gradually added dots of white and pink.

And I loved the pebbles too, but the garden is narrow and space is so precious. I want to fill the space I have with as many plants as I can find. So, for now the pebbles have gone - replaced by grasses mostly.
The metal grating has to stay in place until both my boys are older. Actually, most of the stones ended up at the bottom of the pond thanks to little hands.
