Thanks Irish. Makes a great plant feature with it's height let alone bear veg from it!!

The silk tassels should be brown and dry. The cob can be tested by pressing one of the kernels with your fingernail. If its ready it should leak a milky coloured 'sap' - if it's clear it not quite ready. Hope this makes sense :)
