A big OT plea for help

Hi Everyone,

What I am about to write is very OT and if it is too much so, please tell me as I would hate to offend any of my friends on GoY, but I know a lot of you know that I take in abused, battered and unwanted Parrots/parrotlike birds, and any who are found on the way!! I am asking for help, not money LOL, but just a click a day if possible.

I click daily on the ‘Animal Rescue Site’ it doesn’t cost anything but the time to click and each click gives a bowl of food to an animal rescue site, I have done this for a long time now, so do most of my friends. Alongside this, they run a yearly ‘vote for your favourite rescue site’ in which, as it’s name suggests, you vote for a charity you want to win the top prize.

My Bird Groups, myself and as many friends as I can muster, vote for the Oasis Sanctuary,situated in Cascabel, Arizona, US. It is an amazing place, committed to taking in abused, battered and unwanted birds, never to be resold or replaced in homes, but to live out their lives there. They also take in the odd dog, cat, and any other animal desperate for a home, plus wild fowl, but mainly Parrots and Parrot-like birds. Two of my friends on one of my other Groups are foster carers for the Oasis, taking in birds who are in transfit to the Oasis and need care and medical treatment ready to make them fit to go.

We have managed to get them up to 2nd place with our clicks, the highest we have ever managed before was 8th place, I’m afraid Parrots are not quite as high on the list as dogs and cats obviously, which is quite understandable. I am just wondering if anyone would be kind enough to click on the site to feed the animals and then to click on the Vote for Oasis, I know it is a lot to ask as it is not gardening as such, but it is so well worth doing – at least I think so LOL. Well, I would wouldn’t I!!! The voting for Oasis runs till the 20th December.

I anyone thinks they can help, I will add the contact number later, I hesitate to add it now unless I know anyone will help us. I will add the Oasis contact so that you can just log in and see what they are about.

Voted, Pam, and will try to remember to do it every day.

For anyone who hasn't, yet, type in The Oasis Sanctuary, and select AZ for Arizona from the drop-down menu...it didn't recognise just 'Oasis Sanctuary' when I tried it, and the State code is required too. Easy peasy!

If you type in Oasis Sanctuary and then select AZ in the states, that should get you to it Weeding :-)

If you go to the top of the page and click to vote. It opens another window and then it's as above. Good luck :-)

If you click on the big purple bar to start, it then opens up another page and at the very top there is a little place to vote on the right. Click on that and it opens up the place to vote. Put in Oasis, then AZ and click and it should let you vote. You then confirm it by putting in the name of the animal they show you. It's easier than it sounds Weeding......honestly LOL.

Thank you all so much, I have dragged in my friends, they kindly drag in their families as we need so many votes to catch up with the dog and cat brigade - it's only natural that there are more dog and cat owners out there, than Parrots, but we are trying our very best. If you know of anybody else willing, please could you ask them too. So far we have voters in the UK, USA, Canada, Australia and a couple of other places. This is one thing I get a bit passionate about.......can you tell LOL. Sue, you are a brick, good Brummie Wench, been doing it for ages.......yay. xxxx

The thing about parrots is that, given a good life they live a lot longer than cats and dogs, don't they? We can only do as much as we can do....I think this is great and am more than willing to help.

I found, though, that typing in The Oasis Sanctuary got me there, but typing in Oasis Sanctuary didn't!!! The 'The' makes all the difference!

oh dear, still struggling.
I pressed purple button thing, but it still wants me to do a massive search within AZ (?!) and the only centre listed under letter O is Old English Sheepdogs. Help! Why so complicated?!

Not giving up now though, red rag to a bull this is.....

Oh thank you all so very much, I always think that a click a day is not too bad if you are already on the PC, I click on them all, Rainforest, Cancer, all those in the line along the top, perhaps it all just makes a tiny bit of difference, who knows and what is a second or so out of my day LOL.
