Spring Spring Spring

It is such a lovely time of year, well usually it is. I love May, spring sunshine not too hot a little bit of rain and flowers and plants coming back to life. Just had to go out there and take some pictures.

Not much in flower now that the spring bulbs have gone over but colours are stunning.

Hope you are all able to get out into the spring sunshine and enjoy your gardens, make time for sitting in the sunshine, I have just had an ice cream out there and it was so peaceful. :O)

You are funny do wearspecs but hate specsavers.

Go to an indepandant optiician got new specs a month ago.

Your photos are all on their side OO

Hello Barbara long time no see. Your photos are lovely but on my screen they are on their sides.
Best wishes
Marjorie

Kath at least you can see them now. lol. I do have problems with pictures from my phone on here. Sometimes they are on their sides and then next they are all ok, no idea why. Karen says when they appear on their side on my page if she views them on her I.pad they are the right way up. They appear to be the right way up on my page so maybe if you are looking on an i.pad they will turn themselves the other way on. lol.

Hi Marjories, hope you are not craning your neck viewing the photos. lol. Hope you are well and getting some of this lovely sunshine we are getting. :O)))

you've certainly got plenty of spring colour. Alas, no sunshine here today until around 5 pm and too cold to sit eating ice cream.
I cansee the photos fine on my PC and my I pad.

Thank you Paulspatch glad you can see the pictures ok, really strange isn't it!

14 May, 2016

It is when you take the photo landscape that the problems occur Barbara. Your garden looks great side on. :0)

14 May, 2016

I am never sure what it is Linda. If I post them and they appear on my page on their side I can understand that everyone else sees them that way. BUT they all appear the right way up on my page and so I am totally confused now. lol.

14 May, 2016

Thje pictures are worth turning sideways for anyway!! (Not that i need to...fine for me)

14 May, 2016

oh thanks Paul. it's really strange though.

14 May, 2016

Sorry OO still on their side for me.

14 May, 2016

Sorry about that Kath but nothing I can do to change it. Really weird how some people see them the right way around and others get them on their sides. Gremlins at work I am sure.

14 May, 2016

I have found that if I view GoY on my tablet some members photo's are on their side, but when viewed on my computer, they're the right way up...goodness knows why.
I also love this month OO, even though I age by another year lol! I love the lighter mornings (and nights!) I find myself spending longer and longer in the garden, and yes if I'm honest, less and less time doing the housework...shameful aren't I lol?
Your garden looks so peaceful...

14 May, 2016

thanks Waddy yes it is peaceful, if you can ignore the racing cars and motor bikes on the dual carriage way. As for time spent in the garden I am absolutely cream crackered after a lovely week of weather. Housework what is that? the dust cannot be seen from the garden and if you stay outside until bedtime then you never catch a glimpse of it. lol.

14 May, 2016

Lovely to have such a quiet and tranquil garden Olive....

14 May, 2016

You sound to have my kind of attitude Barbra lol!! As for the racing cars and motor bikes...have you tired an Ipod Shuffle? I used to have an allotment next to the M62, which was awful until I discovered this little device...result? peaceful gardening.

14 May, 2016

Technically challenged me Waddy - please what is an Ipod Shuffle? The trees do blot out quite a lot of noise for us but its the boy racers who persist in chasing up and down the dual carriageway revving their cars and bikes up. We had a very nasty accident again this week (not us personally) - people just do the most idiotic things on our roads. Air Ambulance had to land in the field next to the wood. Took ages to get everyone out of the vehicles.

14 May, 2016

Dd it is mostly tranquil - we are very lucky our nearest neighbour is through an 80 acre wood. and of course the birds and bees who visit us constantly. Would not swap it for anything unless it is a cottage in North Yorkshire with fields and stone walls all around. lol . Ah the dreams :O)

14 May, 2016

Your garden looks lovely and peaceful, I expect it is a restorative not only for you, but the birds and butterflies too from the road. You would never know until you told us about the road, it looks as if it belongs to that cottage in North Yorkshire - are you sure you haven't moved.
Love your idea about not seeing the dust from the garden, it's true of course and I only notice such unimportant things such as clutter and dust when we are having company!

14 May, 2016

Thanks Honeysuckle yes the birds, bees and butterflies are in the garden too enjoying the nectar and the nesting places. We have had a nest of blackbirds fledge and they are back sitting on eggs in the same nest again. The robin has fledged her brood as has the hedge sparrow. Still to hatch is the goldfinch who is in the rose tree and we have bluetits in nest boxes also. The only down side is the pesky rabbit who has somehow managed to have triplets and deposited them in my veggie garden and they were seen dancing/prancing and nibbling away at all my newly planted lettiuce and parsnips not to mention the strawberries which have been eaten off. Ah the joys of gardening eh!!

The photos are on their side on my Ipad too today MUM! I 've had a day of rest today..because of the foot pain. Just a bit of watering, a bit of potting on, and reading magazines in the pod...yes, gardening mags of course! Sometimes its lovely to just have a rest even when its forced on you. Even had take away for dinner....and ice cream too! I feel the same as you about May, its the best month of the year. The fresh leaves, the new growth, the cows back in their fields. :)

15 May, 2016

Karen, What is wrong with your foot, didn't know you had a bad foot. We have had bbq just Paul and me but it was nice. The garden is tidy and I potted on all the seedlings in the greenhouse yesterday while Paul went off to cricket. I stayed home because it was a cool wind and we were not sure if we could get a vehicle on the field so missed it but was very productive for the Primula seedlings.

15 May, 2016

I've had a bad foot for over 2 years. Turns out its a trapped nerve...like Sciatica, but in my foot. Very painful if I walk and then after I sit down and try to get back up. For over a year I thought it was Plantar fasciitis, but its not that as it turns out. Fourth appt. at specialist tomorrow. Trouble is, the exercise he gave me this week has knackered my shoulder! Lol! Typical! Getting old...:((

15 May, 2016

Lol! I'm usually technically challenged too! The Ipod Shuffle is digital, potable music player which you can load with your choice of music. It can be clipped to your belt or lapel and comes with ear pieces. It means you can take your music with you and block out those horrid boy racers. If you buy the 1G version they're not very expensive. I've had my for years ans paid about £14 and if I can use it...anyone can!

15 May, 2016

Karen, your foot problem sounds very painful. I used to suffer from Morton's Neuroma before I had them removed, it was like walking on hot coals, so you have my sympathy. I hope your specialist can sort you out soon.

15 May, 2016

Karen none of us are getting any younger but the alternatives not good. lol. hope you get your foot sorted out soon. It sounds very painful, know what sciatica is like and that is horrendous. Also suffer with painful shoulder joints and have to rest if they get really painful. Take Glucosomine tablets too for joints so they help. If I do a lot of gardening in one day it takes me two or three days to get over the aches and pains. Hope you get it sorted soon xxxxx

16 May, 2016

I was thinking about it after this little conversation Mum, and the only time in the last 2 and a half years that I haven't had much pain was when I was in Gainsborough. I deliberately wore heels to take the pressure off my feet, but I didn't do any gardening or housework, and that has to be the reason. Makes me sad, as I can't stop doing either!

16 May, 2016

no need to be sad just do bits at a time, I have learned that. Keep doing a bit and then having a good break and sit down in between jobs. The only problem is I have a cuppa of some sort when I sit down in between jobs and then have to get up to go to the loo lol :O)

Yes, i think I shall me making more use of the Pod from now on. I've worked very hard in gardens for over 25 years now. I think it's time I had a rest. :) We had a laugh, me and the Podiatrist (Dave). I was saying to him about how much I garden and that perhaps I would have enjoyed a career in garden design and he quickly said..."Its not too late" and I replied just as quickly "Yes, it definitely is too late" and he agreed that he has many gardeners as clients and their bodies are generally wrecked. And when I think about it, I've being doing it for all these years, hands on, all the heavy work (with some help from Scott, but not that much) myself. I think I need to face the fact that I've had my garden design and gardening career...just haven't made any money, which is fine. And now, it's time to ease off and move on to a 'maintenance' phase...for both garden and body!

16 May, 2016

Most definitely its time to relax and enjoy what you have created. :O) and swap the garden tools for easel and brush. :O)

16 May, 2016

Dave the Podiatrist says my foot is doing as well as he was expecting. Then he beat it up again and it didnt hurt for a while! Lol....back to the stretches.
