survivors and a victim........

the rain stopped this afternoon, so i took a walk around….here’s the survivors of a hasty planting late last fall, and a brutal winter [trying to post multiple pics..fingers crossed] i’m surprised at what survived, and shocked at murder most foul with my daffys..who could have done this dastardly deed? i’ve never seen this before in 30 yrs….sorry about the double pic…

You have got the hang of posting the pictures no odaatpat, well done. Do you have squirrels they might be steeling the plants?

Well done Pat you sure have the hang of it now, shame about your daffs, I know the feeling when something gets at your flowers, what one is going to do to the creature responsible as well,lol..yes there does appear to be a neat little hole there, I have to find the one under my g'house and block it up or get something nasty put down, my language yesterday morning was not nice when I saw which plant had been got at....

thanks, Pamg, Oliveoil, and Lincslass...well, at least you have all agreed that it must be a nasty beasty..not some horrible fungus..i am inclined to agree with you-all..i have at least two squirrels that are madly insane over all these new beds...it's holes, holes, holes...yipeee!!! every day!!!!i had a similar problem with my old garden while it was new [altho' nothing touched the daffys]...once the garden was established, the squirrels just ran amuck in the strawberry patch, and left the rest alone...it was a b..... to get the ferns going good, tho'...imagine the nasties pulling off the flowers, then tossing them aside!!! Lincslass, i hope you have noticed my wonderful language control here....i spent most of the evening plotting bloodthirsty revenge...all forms of which are unprintable......

There aren't any words for how you feel when something you wait all year for gets ruined...

Well yes, but not polite ones... I lost a first time flower too on a Goy gifted plant this spring, & feeling very cheesed off about it.

hi, Hywel...sorry to be so slow responding to your encouraging remarks..i still get lost on GOY...you're right, i've had quite a number survive the winter..most importantly the big hedge..it was very expensive, and something i've had no experience with, but it came through with flying colours..i'm very happy about that..would much rather loose a daff than a big hedge!..LOL...
