Not a lot has changed

Hi everyone
I haven’t been active lately as there has not been much to say. I have a quick look at the questions most days (often something new to learn) and catch up with looking at the blogs occasionally.
Not many changes in the garden here, everything is maturing, it’s getting hard to find space for anymore plants!
One failure was a ceonathus, which started to die back after being pruned last year and the severe winter caused more die back, so it had to go.

However I am very pleased that the cotoneaster is flowering for the first time and is attracting bees, and hopefully there will be lots of berries for the birds later in the year.

Along the left hand border

A poppy seeded itself on the corner of the conservatory

This is a round courgette, growing in a pot. The first one was picked when just a bit larger than a tennis ball and was very tender and tasty!

This is along the right hand border taken a couple of weeks ago. The obelisk has been put where the ceonathus came out and a passion fruit vine planted. Hopefully it will be more successful. The foxgloves have sadly, almost finished now.

This is an experiment, a watermelon growing in a pot in the conservatory. Fingers crossed I can keep it growing to full size. Perhaps if this warm weather continues, it may have a chance!!

Hope everyone is enjoying this lovely weather and taking time to sit in the garden and just enjoy it all! I certainly have been, with a cuppa or a nice chilled glass, depending on the time of day or evening!!

Nice to see your garden and your plants look very good.

Good luck with your water melon.

Your garden is looking great! Hope the Watermelon grows big enough for you to harvest. We just had a couple of slices ourselves - not home grown though!

Some years ago when I had an allotment I tried to grow my own watermelon plants. I got a tiny fruit on one plant but it never grew.
