Yesterday started off so hot…..The greenhouse roof had even opened before I was out the garden, Managed to crop some more peas, and beetroot, all the time noticing the clouds getting blacker overhead. Then it hit us……..Hail and Thunder like you wouldnt believe…….The noise was deafening on the lean~to roof. Waterbutts overflowed. Gutters looked like Niagra Falls, and the road was a river…
As you can see from Rays work van, the water is already over the kerbs and is more than half way accross the road…………I had to paddle through this to look after Chloe while Sue went and got Milly from school………..But worse still…..Look what the hailstones did to my poor Brugmansia……..
The poor thing has been ripped to shreads…….I am gutted………..I have now moved it under the lean~to, but it doesnt get any sun there until late afternoon….I know as gardeners, we all love to see the rain……..but not quite as heavy as this next time ………………please……..

Although not that far from you, we seem to have been spared the worst of the storms. We did get thunder and lightning and some heavy rain which has flattened some of the plants in the garden but I hope they will recover. I'm sorry to see the results of the hail on your Bugmansia.

Goodness Milky how awful.what a storm,it is heartbreaking to see our beloved plants going to rack and ruin....

Sorry, Milky, but I had to laugh at the words on the van! Come on, get that SP to waterproof all your plants - he could make millions :)

Dont be sorry Gee I laugh every time I see it....Fast....Ray........that is a joke....I could could easily point out a few joints that he hasnt stopped leaking here he he he ......Supposed to get vmore really bad weather on Wednesday, so beware Toto.....could be you next time..

I went for a cycle ride with a friend today and he had horendous rain and hail last night and he only lives about three quarters of a mile away. I'm not looking forward to Wednesday as it could be our turn next.
