Bravely showing our untidy area!

I would like to show you our so called ‘No man’s land’s….situated at the back of the garage. It really is a useful area to put things before their allotted positions are decided or they are discarded.
Our 3 ghastly bins can be out of sight too.The remaining tree stump is from a conifer which had to be controlled a few years ago.As you can see there are random pots, wood and empty paint tins scattered around.

There is a large, metal concrete base shed where my OH has a workbench .It is perfectly dry, thankfully. I have a potting up table also.
Normally in the Spring/Summer this area is knee deep in weeds but we allow these to creep in!
The fences are sturdy but not stained…thankfully one less job for me!
That’s just about the end of the tour…..does anyone have a similar untidy area to show?

Nicely hidden away! I have three slightly untidy areas for bins, pots etc, but I do tidy them periodically. I try to keep everywhere as weed free as possible because the weeds here are like a Roman Army!

I think we all need a corner like that. Trouble is ours extends to filling the garage as well but OH would be very upset if I showed you a photo of that...

I have several places, under seating for pots that are full of 'over-summering bulbs', on the path behind the greenhouse, in front of the garage workshop in the back garden.

I will risk taking photos and sharing later in the week.

brave indeed Meadowland.

Our very untidy area is the garage as everything seems to get put in there !

I'm not sure that can be classed as 'untidy', slightly out of place maybe, but I wish my dreadful places were that 'untidy'!

Well if your only untidy thing is a nice woodpile you are doing better than many!

Hi Julia, I have to say, it doesn’t look so bad! We don’t have any areas like this - only because we have a very small garden. My OH keeps the garage tidy, due to his tidy manner and he has so much patience.
Anything we have or we need to hide or throw, we take straight to the local tip. This is quite a nuisance really, but we are forced to do so due to lack of space. In a way, it’d be really handy to have a hidden spot in the back garden.

Stera, it’s a bit more than that, pallets and a dumping ground for those scrappy things that you might need one day haha

Well I'm impressed and a bit despondent. Perhaps you could all come and give my OH some lessons in rubbish disposal...I am not allowed to touch it but maybe he would listen to a crowd?? Mustn't tell him the truth is listed in goypedia, lol...

Thank you for sharing this, Meadowland. I wish our untidy area was limited like yours. I dream of having an orderly house and garden, and grow weary of tidying areas just to have the freed up space filled before I have become accustomed to it or found something to fill it myself! My son, in his early thirties, lives here and has a job and interests that require a lot of equipment ..... periodically he has a blitz too and a load of stuff heads for the dump ..... I love him dearly but wish he didn't take after his Father ( who sadly died in 1997) quite so much ;-) Neither found any pleasure in gardening so that is chock-a-block with plants that I haven't been able to resist, lol.
