As the garden grows.

Today I potted up my basil, chives and corriander. I took some into the house for the kitchen window. The rest I’m sharing with friends and some left outside.

In this bed which I have just dug 6 weeks ago i have under the cloche some salid leaves, behind them some beetroot and along the right side some onions. I am so pleased with what happening I have never grown anything before and I am over the moon that they have come up. Hope they dont all die now!

Around the steepps I have planted some ‘snow in summertime’ don’t know the real name that what the friend who gave it me called it. Under the old plum tree you can see the violas below them are crocus, some pink tulip and some daffs.

So this is how it looks today from this eight weeks ago!

Can I call myself a gardener yet?

How long does it take to get your fingernails clean? If it's more than a minute, then you're a gardener!

I just popped back to have a look at your earlier blogs. What a transformation! It looks as if you have made a good job of it too - not just a quick fix. The fact that you are so proud of what you have achieved and have posted it on here for others to comment says it all. You most definately can call yourself a gardener! and proud of it!! The ornamental side of the fence is looking good - is this work in progress? Look forward to seeing more photos of the rest of the garden soon - Well done.

Awh, Thanks maties, who would of thought it, me a gardener. I am well chuffed. The fence is a necessity I have a dog who likes to help with the digging! The decorative side of the fence is only started most of the plants are still in pots. I am thinking of enlarging the decorative beds, I think I will need more planting space. I am worried that I won't have enough lawn to play with the dog.

It looks nothing like it did before Martin, you have done a great job and I really like the picket fence. I notice you haven`t mentioned aches and pains so I guess you worked them off, lol..
Definitely a gardener and one with reason to be proud of all achieved in only a few weeks.....
