Shows are creeping up again

It seems that there just isn’t enough hours in the day, somehow. I haven’t visited goy for a while, just don’t seem to have time to do much more than check my emails recently.
I have been down in the greenhouse measuring the buds on my show plants for the Shrewsbury Flower Show. I shall not be doing a big stand there this year, I seemed to get behind at the start of the season, and am still catching up.
I hope to do a class of 6, class of 3, and two individual plants with my double tuberous Begonias, but also plan to enter some of the Begonias Rex this time.
I have been looking at entering a larger stand next year, Class 1, which is a display of flowering plants as opposed to class 6 which is specifically for Begonias on a smaller stand. I will need to be sure that i am in front of myself and not behind at the start of next season and will need to be sure of enough plants to fill the stand.
The first show i will enter this year is on 1st August, then 8th, 14th & 15th, then 29th, and the last one planned is 12th & 13th September.
I’ve got a ticket for Tatton park show on wednesday, so i will visit that show. I loaded the pictures from The Malvern spring show from my camera to the computer last night (i will need some room for Tatton park photos). So i must get round to uploading them here.

Good luck with the shows. I am a "newbie" as regards showing, first year last year and did quite well. Was a week out with my begonia (Sceptre) after all the work on it! I will make sure I'm ready this year. Got another corm for this year (Melissa) but she won't be ready...very small plant.

I don't have Sceptre, but i have one or two of Mellisa.
If you do show,i wish you some good luck too. Hope you do well, and master the timing of your plants. (it does vary slightly depending on where you are and the conditions in your particular area).
I started growing by helping a friend in Shrewsbury, but now i grow my own and find it's cooler where i am and the plants take longer.

I think thats why mine was a bit out on timing. I made sure I started the tuber off really early to make sure. I was getting some help from Alan Harris and he couldn't understand why it was so slow. Still we live and learn Eh. :))
