Hi everyone, just touching base again, been to Tenerife for two weeks, but am now back.

Done a lot of sleeping, eating, walking and drinking – in that order. Seen lots of lovely plants and sun. There has been a lot of wind, and unusually chilly, the locals have been complaining of the cold, they have had to put shoes and jumpers on! Something our friend has not done for two years!

Last night, (Friday) we flew into Leeds/Bradford Airport, and had to do a “non-standard” landing due to 50 mile an hour cross winds, it was a bit of a white knuckle descent. We had to be towed from the runway by a “tug” to a place of safety to disembark, only to be blown across the tarmac to the waiting buses. The plane would them be moved and anchored down! It was a relief to get back in our own home.

Out Christmas begins tomorrow, when we go with our daughter and grandson on the Santa Train. We did it last year and it was great fun. It is only a short piece of restored railway, and the train goes backwards and forwards until Santa has spoken to every child and given them a present. The adults get whisky and mince pie to stop them getting bored. It is wonderful to see the childrens faces.

So, MERRY CHRISTMAS to everyone.

Hello Marge ~
What an exciting time for you !
I'm relieved your roller coaster plane ride ended calmly.

Sounds like you are much safer on the Santa Train :o)
What a great idea to keep the wheels rolling until Santa has seen all the children.

Merry Christmas to you, and your family, and I hope you have lots of Jollydays in 2009.
best wishes from Terratoonie, Conker and Crocus.xxx
