I love trees, my dream is to have my own orchard.
We have now planted several trees in the garden ornamental and fruit.
Ornamental:
Kilmarnock Willow I love the catkins when they turn yellow.
Flowering Cherry “pink perfection” beautiful blossom.

Fruit:
Apple James Grieve
Dwarf Patio Apple Malus Braeburn
Pear Conference
Victoria Plum
Cherry “Stella”

They are now starting to leaf, everything is so late this year, will look wonderful if they blossom at the same time. Beechgrove Gardeners said we are five weeks late.

Conifers
We had a pot grown 3ft Christmas tree two years ago and it survived Christmas outside the front door, so into a huge pot it went and it is so healthy and is now the height of the fence, lord knows what I will do with it when it outgrows its pot. It did look pretty last Christmas on the decking with white lights. I have no idea what it is, probably a fir that will grow to 140ft. :))

Lawson’s Cypress “Stardust” this is so pretty with feathery foliage. Small in size but it too will grow.
And lastly an Olive Tree in a pot, it will go into the greenhouse over winter and keep the grape vine company.

Don’t think there is room left for more trees, wonder if the neighbours want some.

I thought I would wait until they had some blossom on them, lots of young furled leaves and buds just now.

Sounds more like an arboretum than a garden!;) I look forward to seeing photos of all the blossom:)

Its also nice seeing before and after photos of what they are like now and when they bloom .

Like a garden journal to compare when they are in bud then in bloom over the years.

I never thought about before and after Scotkat, thank you :)

I should have bought a field when I was younger Louisa15 and filled it with trees. I think leaving trees is a lovely legacy, hope my daughter thinks so when she is trying to hack down a 140ft conifer when I cack it. :)

I heard a few yrs ago when the planted an Orchard of apples trees near where we live that in your own garden you only need to have 6 fruit trees to call it an Orchard.

All looking fantastic :)

Very nice Mabroon, I also love my trees except perhaps late autumn when trying to clear all the leaves before they get soggy, then its a love/hate relationship........
Just discovered I have half an orchard, lol, always something new to learn on Goy.........
